Thoughts to ponder

From Mrs. Sharp's Traditions:

"Whether or not you know it, you are creating memories. When your children are grown, the holidays—their Christmas Past—can come to mean memories of gazing out the window at gently falling snow together, the sounds of bells and joyful music, the sweet smells of hot cider, roast turkey, and gingerbread, sipping hot chocolate and reading a holiday story each night at dusk, warm fires crackling on the hearth, bright wrapping paper and ribbons, beautiful cards that arrive each day bringing greetings, the joy of a few choice and desired presents, and the gift of a loving family smiling in the glow of holiday candlelight.

Or their Christmas memories can be of Mother racing around, out of breath, out of energy, out of love, out of patience because she's so exhausted trying to do everything for everybody. It can mean tears and tantrums, screaming and yelling and hustle and bustle, arguing over money, over relations, over holiday humbug.

It's your choice."

That is something that I need to have told to me often!

This is great timing to remind ourselves at the beginning of Advent! I am so embarrassed at the number of times my pre-Christmas confession had to include the results of being out of energy, love, patience... Let's all do better this year! Thanks Melissa!

Just beautiful! I can't get over how much your kiddos look alike in the eyes. Stunning!

Very nice card. I like the quote too. I need to remember it.
