Haircut

I can't believe she did it again! Last Thursday, while I was trying to get Kristen to sleep for her nap, Meghan decided to give herself another haircut! (Although I have to say in her defense that I am largely to blame and feel like I must be the world's worst mother.) She had apparently, unbeknownst to me, spilled orange juice in her hair earlier that morning, and when it dried, it became rather stiff and crunchy, which is why, she explained, she was trying to cut it out! How could I have not known that my child was walking around with sticky dried juice hair?! Had I washed it promptly, she never would have taken the scissors to it! Luckily, one of my oldest friends—who just happens to be a beautician!—called that very afternoon to see if she and her darling infant son and one of our other dear mutual friends could stop by for a visit! I know this couldn't have been a mere coincidence; I've heard the term "God-incidence" and this was surely one of those cases! Jamie was truly a Godsend that day! I'm sure you can see from the "before" photos that this job was clearly beyond my limited scope of ability. Meghan sure looks cute now with her super short 'do, though, and she has promised that she will not cut her hair again!

Maybe she'll grow up to be a hairdresser and she's just getting practice early on in life. Lol!

Oh Melissa - I know it isn't funny, but I had to laugh. I can't tell you how many times Erik and Erin used to cut their hair when they were small and how many times they promised they wouldn't do it anymore when I would scold them! Erin cut her hair the day before picture day when she was in kindergarten! Kristen will outgrow it, I can promise you that, but I can't say when, ha. Anyway, she looks adorable with her new hair cut - like a little pixie. She looks like Ramona in the Ramona book series! And no, you aren't the world's worst mother for not washing the oj out of her hair, ha - you are a good mother. Kids just do the darndest things . . . :o)

I can't believe this Melissa! Look at your little love!!! A story to be told and laugh at some day.

Also, I had a dream we met last night and I woke up thinking we'd really met! You were expecting and I was thrilled beyond belief to meet you! You and Meghan were in the dream and she was too cute!

Hope you're feeling well!

I've never had a haircutter (knock on wood), so I find this a rather interesting piece of your life, Melissa. :) She is such a cutie!!
